Genesee ARC has announced a private fundraising campaign seeking $750,000 to renovate a vacant school building located at 38 Woodrow Road in Batavia, New York. Significant architectural changes will allow for enhanced employment and job training, culinary arts program, family support and creative art expression programs. The facility also has a forum for physical fitness, therapeutic, recreation and other programs.
The campaign co-chairs are Tom and Lynn Houseknecht of Batavia. “We are pleased to be leading this campaign and are going to do everything we can to meet the challenge of raising these funds for this outstanding organization,” Mrs. Houseknecht said. “Our family has had a longtime supportive relationship with ARC,” Mr. Houseknecht said, adding, “Hopefully this campaign and this renovated facility will, in the long run, help more people understand the mission of ARC.”
